Trust-Based Leadership
Government leaders increasingly face challenges characterized by volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments. Achieving impactful outcomes while operating in demanding environments, requires innovative processes and solutions. Leaders facilitate creativity and innovation by modeling vulnerability-based trust and ensuring psychological safety for all members of their team or work unit. Participants in this peer coaching program will learn, plan, apply and practice key competencies necessary to build high-trust teams.
Our Approach
Facilitators frame session breakout discussions through presentations of key principles related to the leadership competency in focus. Participants leverage their collective strengths and peak, professional experiences to facilitate greater self-awareness, brainstorming, action planning and peer accountability. Participants benefit from the collective wisdom of the group. They are afforded time for self-reflection, integration of insights and thought partnership with coaches and peers. The high-trust relationships that emerge from the experience knit together a cohesive group. Our leadership development programs consistently receive high ratings by clients from the Defense, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security and State Departments, as well as NASA.
Sessions promote leader awareness, adaptive strategies and action planning related to the following U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) competencies: Conflict Management, Developing Others, Influencing and Negotiating (Managing Up), Interpersonal Skills (Emotional Intelligence), Leveraging Diversity (Unconscious Bias and Thinking Traps), Partnering and Team Building and Motivation.
