Kumar is a dynamic public speaker on issues including leadership and character development. His speeches include compelling anecdotes from his professional experiences over more than 30 years since graduating from West Point, including commanding a NATO peacekeeping team in the Balkans, and leading a 20,000-person organization fighting transnational crime. He includes personal experiences that have shaped his beliefs, including surviving cancer, adopting a sibling set of three children from the Los Angeles foster system, and discovering as a 45-year old adult he had been adopted. He has addressed audiences of more than 1,000 people. Kumar has testified numerous times before Congress and has provided remarks at conferences for security, law enforcement, nonprofit and private sector audiences, both in the United States and abroad.
